Clarify your story and create a consistent brand across your professional materials.
About this Session
Your skills may be strong, but does that translate when you're submitting to a general inbox? In this focused working session, a Groundplan mentor will help you identify the skills, interests, experiences, and qualities that distinguish you from other emerging theatre technicians. Together, we’ll develop a clearer professional story and determine how that story should appear across your résumé, portfolio, website, applications, and interviews. This is not about inventing a flashy persona or making you sound like something you're not. It's about recognizing what is already compelling about your work and communicating it with greater confidence. THIS SESSION IS A GOOD FIT IF: • Your materials feel disconnected or generic • You struggle to describe what makes you different • You are interested in several technical disciplines and need help connecting them • Your varied materials don't feel like they belong to the same person • You want to present yourself more professionally to colleges, employers, or collaborators DURING THE SESSION, WE MAY: • Identify the strongest themes in your experience and body of work • Clarify how you describe your discipline, interests, and goals • Review the language and visual consistency of your existing materials • Establish priorities for your résumé, portfolio, or online presence • Discuss how your personal brand should carry into interviews and networking YOU’LL LEAVE WITH: A clearer understanding of your professional identity, more confident language for describing your work, and specific next steps for creating a consistent presence across your materials. This is a collaborative coaching session. It does not include the complete redesign of a résumé, portfolio, logo, or website, but it can establish the creative and strategic direction for that work. Book your session and begin presenting your work with the same level of intention you bring to creating it.
